THE EXPERIENCE

Equal parts cocktail party and madcap immersive play, MONSTER PARTY transports guests to a boisterous soirée in Washington D.C., at the height of McCarthyism. Hosted by an enigmatic socialite known only as The Baroness, guests are welcomed into a foreboding mansion for an evening of madcap revelry.

Throughout the evening, guests are free to explore the house, interacting with several characters as a darkly comedic narrative unfolds around them.

It all leads to a fiery finale that may have guests questioning their own sanity… and, perhaps, even their morality.

Ultimately, MONSTER PARTY explores how Western American systems turn ordinary citizens into monsters, terrorizing one another while those in power benefit.

MONSTER PARTY is an interactive melodrama within the context of a lively cocktail party.

The show is designed for newcomers and seasoned immersive theatre attendees alike, a sandbox-style experience that allows guests to engage with the narrative at their own pace.

  • MONSTER PARTY will take place at Rita House: 5971 W 3rd St, Los Angeles CA 90036.

  • Street parking is highly limited. We strongly encourage all guests to carpool or, even better, use rideshare (especially if you plan on imbibing, as libations are included with your ticket).

  • Yes. The Baroness requires that all guests wear black cocktail attire.

  • We will begin checking guests in at 7:30pm. Guests will require a bag and I.D. check prior to entry. Doors to the experience open at 8:00pm sharp. If you arrive after 8:00pm, you will be required to wait until the pre-show has ended before entry.

  • MONSTER PARTY runs around 2.5 hours.

  • During your experience at MONSTER PARTY, you may encounter the following: simulated sexual situations; discussions of sexual assault; blood and gore; simulated violence; discussions of sexism and misogyny; and strong dialogue including homophobic language. 

  • Yes. MONSTER PARTY is an immersive theatrical experience, where you will converse with characters in order to drive the narrative. Performers may engage in light physical contact (eg, touching your shoulder, taking you by the hand). Please do not touch the performers. 

  • MONSTER PARTY is a 21+ show, no exceptions. Guests will be required to show an I.D. before entering the show.

  • Yes. We offer complimentary bag and coat check where you may store your belongings during the show.
